Hey everyone. Just a few quick blurbs be4 we get down and dirty... Oh yeah, very down and dirty. Easy. Fading Fiction, my band, featuring Judd Korman Andy Rosecrans Jeff Bonoma Steven Phillips and Austin Bruhl will be performing at Relay for Life at 8:30, so come check that out. Also lets all say a little prayer for the stats final tomorrow, which will be sure to be a bloodbath for everyone involved. Thanks.

On to the blog. First off, lets talk about Ted Mazetier. Ted is 84, which means that he was born in 1925. 1925 is a long time ago. Thats 4 years before the famous stock market crash, the one that didn't happen this year... Anyways, on any other day, Ted Mazetier is just another old, wrinkled, bad driving nobody. But on this day, he's a hero. Well, to himself at least. While driving in Tacoma, Washington, Ted pulled over to help two men with their car, which had apparently broken down. When he got to the car, one of the men punched him in the face, and demanded his keys. Now at that age, I'd probably just hand over the keys, because old people are not as strong as young people. But obviously that's a common misconception, because Ted, declining to hand over the keys, kicked one of the guys in the balls and the other in the stomach, and then the two guys ran away. Now a few problems ran through my head while reading this. First of all, the man only has two legs (presumably). Now, knowing that when people with two legs kick, they probably can only kick one leg at a time, unless it's a Japanese action movie. So, when Ted began to kick, he probably only kicked one of the guys, which means the other guy just stood there and waited to be kicked. Ted is 84. If you can't handle an 84 year old 2 on 1, then shit. Who's next on the list? Maybe a 90 year old will be easier? Secondly, instead of getting back up and kicking the shit out of the old guy, you run? I guess you didn't want the car that badly. The two men were later arrested, which just adds insult to injury. I think they already felt bad enough about getting their ass whooped by an 84 year old, but now they are in prison for it. That's a good day...Unless Ted looks like this:
then that's just bad luck. (You can totally see the outline of his dick. Gross.)

This story of carjacking attempts brings to mind a little story of my own. The year was 2007. I was in Champaign for a baseball tournament, and our team went out for a dinner, but me and Chap weren't hungry, and stayed back at the hotel. A few minutes later, we got hungry, and decided to walk to a Subway close by. To save time, we took a back route, which took us down some semi-sketchy roads. Close to Subway, we see a seemingly fine beat up sketchy car on a patch of grass. We walk by, and a one legged dude with a black hooker come out of the car. How many times do you get to say that combination of people in a sentence? Not many. How did I know she was a hooker you ask? I didn't, she just dressed trampy, stop asking questions. But seriously, she was a hooker. Getting ass gets a lot harder when you only have one leg. I'd think its somewhat of a turnoff. Or a turn on for those of you who like it freaky. But that's here nor there. So anyways, these two come out of the car, and ask Chap and I to help them push their car, because it had broken down. Chap, being the smart one, told them we were in a big hurry and couldn't. But me, living in my own Northbrook fantasy world, decided to help them, like a normal human being unaware of danger in sketchy situations. Chap repeated that we were in a hurry, but I told him he could go on, and I'd meet up with him. I honestly don't know what I was thinking. Chap, being a good friend, decided to stay with me, and we both ventured to help Legs and the blooker (black hooker). When we got to the car, there were tons of rings and jewelry on the dashboard. Sketchy? Yes. Stolen? Probably. The car was a mess, with garbage all over the backseat. This was a horrible situation. There seemed to be nothing wrong with the car, other then it wasn't on, but they insisted that it was broken, and that we needed to push. So we pushed, and they kept going behind us, while we did all the pushing. Also, Legs was not helpin much, since he only had one leg, and no crutch (a crutch would get in the way with the hooker). So we push and push, and they are continually behind us, and it starts setting in that we could possibly get mugged. Finally, we push it onto the pavement (who knows how it got onto the grass in the first place) and Legs and the blooker get in the car and drive away. Don't say thank you. Drive away? Yes. The car worked. On the walk to Subway Chap educates me on how stupid I was. It was a harsh reality. We then ensue by eating two 12 inch subs. I got turkey and ham on Italian. And the apple slices, which they keep in the fridge with the milk that nobody buys. So, in the end, we didn't get mugged, but we almost did. It's hard to say you almost got mugged, but I think that story is worthy of the title.
The guy looked kinda like this guy from scary movie, only without one leg. And with a black hooker. Take my strong hand.

My final little blurb is a continuation of my parking violations story. When I was trying to think of an idea to ask my date (priyal) to prom, one of my early ideas was something with parking violations. So, I went to the deans office, and asked if they could give me one or two blank ones to use for a prom idea. The lady said no, they don't issue them to people. I was cracking up. I know she meant they don't issue blank ones, but the way she said it was just hilarious. They issue them to everyone. And the one time someone wants a parking violation, they don't issue them. Ha.

Thanks everyone happy birthday Jenny love you forever!

Signs of the Times

Hello everyone. Remember me? Yeah its been awhile. High Society has been on hiatus for a few months. The motivation just wasn't there. I was discouraged. But you know what, I had "forgotten about the music" so to speak. I love to write. I love to express my ideas, and voice them to my fellow peers, i.e. this blog. The last few months I just forgot what I really loved, and now that passion is back. Guess who's back. Shady's back. And this blog. Tell a friend. Lets rock. (I'd like to give a shout out to Nick Riley, for getting me back into writing. Thanks bud. Thanks also to Avery Luck, pursuing me as well.)

By the way, I just figured out how to make new paragraphs. The enter button doesn't work on this site, so I would always space out my paragraphs with pictures to make it seem like I knew what I was doing. I didn't. Now, with some simple reasoning, I found the shift button. Lifesaver.

On to my topic. As you saw by the title, I am talking about the times we live in. One of my favorite bands, The Killers, entitled their most recent album "Day and Age". This got me to really notice certain things about our time that everyone just assumes is normality. In this time of short-attention-spans and fast everything, nobody slows down to really observe the changes around us. That's what I'm here for.

My first observation: For a large majority of kids our age, religion has become a chore, and taken a backseat in our lives. Now, there's the few extremely religious kids who will vehemently oppose this, but I think it's true. When our parents were kids, church or temple was mandatory. I can safely say I don't go to temple unless I am forced to on high holidays, and I think a lot of people can relate to that. Religion has become a punishment, something that distracts us from our high paced, digital lives. I am an atheist. I think largely that I lost faith not because of a specific event or a certain belief, but because of the hatred I had towards Hebrew school and temple. The time in which I became old enough to realize I was in temple was around the same time that computers and technology began influencing me. As it became harder and harder to entertain me, Hebrew school didn't stand a chance. It was simply too boring for me, and it angered me that something I didn't care about was wasting so much of my time. It saddens me to look back and see that, but its just a simple reality I've come to accept.

My second observation: People are literally wired to technology. (Not literally. Figuratively. You get the point.) I coached a team of 7th and 8th graders for a park district basketball league. I don't have much experience with kids, as I'm an only child, so I didn't really have any idea what the environment they live in is like. Lets keep in mind that our generation, when we were younger, was slightly before cell phones and Ipods. We got all of this technology relatively recently. When I saw my players, some of them looking barely 10, with blackberrys and Ipod's, it really hit me. Technology has gripped every age. These kids have facebooks. FACEBOOKS. What is there to do on facebook without the high school drama? All facebook is for is stalking people you aren't that close with, posting pictures of you and your friends with red cups, or just trying to be cool. Cuz lets face it, facebook is cool. But these kids? It's just unnecessary. The days of going outside and inventing games, playing constantly outside, board games, etc., are over. Video games, Internet, and TV have changed kids. Its a sad story. But there's the paradox. I'm writing this on the Internet, so technically, I'm preaching against myself? Think about that.

But seriously, go play a board game or invent a game. Read a book. Put down that Xbox controller, sign off of facebook for a few days (or a few hours). It will be enjoyable. When I went to Alaska this summer I had no cell phone, Ipod, or computer for 3 weeks. Or shower or good food, or housing, but that's neither here nor there. I thought it would be tough, but honestly, getting away from technology was a breath of fresh air. Literally.

On to a lighter topic, in completely unrelated news: Actor Jamie Waylett was arrested for possession of marijuana recently. Wondering who Jamie Waylett is? Well hes none other then.............................Crabbe from the Harry Potter movies! After getting pulled over for suspicious behavior, cops found 8 bags of weed in his car. That's some serious shit. I guess the "don't you know who I am?" line didn't work for Crabbe. The cop just wasn't a Harry Potter fan. After the car raid, police then went to his house, where he had a "cannabis farm" with 10 marijuana plants under hydroponic lights valued at 3,000 dollars. Crabbe likes to smoke. And deal? How many people can say they got their weed from Crabbe from Harry Potter? Apparently a lot.

If you noticed that there was no pictures in this post, there is a method to my madness, so to speak. I felt like the last posts were getting bogged down in pictures, and its more about my ideas. But for you short attention-span people, there will be a few pictures in upcoming posts. Don't fret. Thanks everyone, its good to be back.

Question: What is your favorite non-main-stream band? Post your comments.

Joaquin Phoenix, Oldies, and Enough Parking Violations to Clothe a Small Child

Hello everyone. Were officially second semester seniors (Most of the people reading this anyway)! Kick back, relax, and enjoy 2nd semester, its time to chill. On to my thoughts.

First off, look at the following list, and think about what all of these movies have in common. Ready? Go: Signs, Walk The Line, Gladiator, Hotel Rwanda, The Village. Can't think of it? You probably can, looking at the title. Joaquin Phoenix.
Great actor, with some impressive movies above. But now on to why he is the topic of conversation tonight. Joaquin Phoenix, accomplished actor, is giving up acting to pursue......... rapping. The picture above is the Phoenix pre-rapper stage. Before I show you the post-rapper stage, just prepare yourself, mentally, physically, and emotionally. Everything you thought about the world is about to get turned upside down. Are you ready? Here we go. 1...........2.............3..........GO.
Just kidding, that's just Dave Chappelle posing as Rick James. Here's the real photo.
Jesus Christ. I told you to prepare. What the hell is that? And what is that grey tuft of hair on the right side of the picture? How did he grow that beard? So many questions, so few answers. I don't know what hes drinking or what he's taking, but its too intense. On a side note, I think my mom has those same sunglasses. But looking at Joaquin, he might have just snuck in my house and taken them. Check under your beds before you go to sleep, Joaquin Phoenix is waiting for you. Here's the link to his rapping video: http://http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LieYeCudbQ8 watch it at your own risk. It's honestly horrible. I hope this is all a big joke, but I don't really get that feeling. Apparently he's making a documentary with Casey Afflack, who is related to him somehow. And P Diddy is supposedly producing his album, but that's also just a rumor. For all of our sakes, lets hope it stays a rumor. Joaquin: Go back to your strengths. Your a great actor, and a god awful rapper. Or let everyone know that this was just a joke. Even if it wasn't. Just say it was. Thanks brah. On to my next topic, concerning this man:Larry Whitfield. You probably don't know who he is, and you shouldn't. Why is he significant? He is being charged with first degree murder. Why? He literally scared an old woman to death. Whitfield had just tried to rob a bank in Gaston County, North Carolina, but was unsuccessful and fleeing on foot. Needing somewhere to hide, he went into the home of 79-year-old Mary Parnell. When he entered, he told the woman he wasn't going to hurt her, and he just needed somewhere to hide. And how does she respond? With a heart attack. Now this story really caught my eye. This guy is a scary dude. Look at him. If he ran into my house right now, I would cry. Literally weep. Just out of pure fear. I'm not 79 years old, so my heart would probably be okay. But Mrs. Parnell, on the other hand, is 79. And her heart was most definitely not okay. "Parnell's autopsy report said she had an enlarged heart, was overweight and had advanced liver disease, kidney disease, hypertension, heart disease and was a diabetic, all of which were decided to be secondary factors" (AOL news). That's also not a great combination of issues. Whitfield is facing life with parole. Now I don't really agree with the charge. Throwing the guy in jail for life because an extremely old woman with a ton of health problems has a heart attack from seeing your scary face? Little harsh. Some community service, maybe a year or two in the pen. Not life. I think a few years would stop Whitfield from ever scaring anyone to death again. But who knows.
Cute. On to the third topic. Parking violations. I am sure most of you have experienced at least one, since almost everyone in the grade has. Its an environmental concern how much paper the school uses on those yellow slips. Today, for a change (sarcasm), there was a large lack of parking spots in athletics. So, I had to make a choice. Pull out of GBN (not a sexual reference), thrust back into GBN (sexual reference), and park in THE CAGE. The cage, the walk of all walks, the trail of tears. An excruciating trek through all the elements. Kinda like the the aggro crag, all you GUTS fans from the 90's.
But seriously. The cage is an automatic 20 minute setback, plus a 20 minute addition to your ride home. So either go to the cage, or harmlessly make a new spot at the end of the row... Or park in CPA, where there's parking spots just waiting to be taken, but where we can't park because its "faculty parking" that they don't even use. So I made my own spot, and got slapped with yet another parking violation. I love how the slip says in huge, grossly bold letters: YOU ARE PARKED ILLEGALLY. I feel like a robot is telling me that over a loudspeaker. So, to summarize, the parking situation has been poorly run by the school, and something should change. There is no need for 500 handicapped spots. There is no need for random spots in every row to have lines through them. There's no need for vacant spots to just sit there next to the CPA. The deans have probably given out 500 parking violations. Don't they even think that's an absurd amount? It's a fallacy. Fix that shit up. Make love, not war. A sneak preview of the upcoming blog: a reflection on Manuary. 2 days left everyone. Were in the home stretch.

Summer Heights, Movie Recs, and Christopher Walken

Hey everyone. Wind chills hittin -25 or lower tomorrow, bundle your shit up (yeah you like that blue color? Just realized I can do that. Powerful.). That type of coldness doesn't mess around. My car's actually been frosting over on the inside, so i have to use the scraper inside my car and it looks dumb, and I end up with the shavings all over myself. Embarrassing. Alright, on to the first topic. Summer Heights High. For those who don't watch it, myself included, its that show with the Australian, or British, or whatever accents. I think everyone can say they've heard at least one person in the hall say "F*** you, miss!". Well guess what? F*** you right back. Every time I hear someone say that, something snaps inside me. I have seen one episode. Yeah, lets all bitch me out for judging it without even seeing the whole show. Make my day. Its not my type of humor. Its dumb, in my opinion. That's the last I'm going to say about the quality of the show, cuz I'm actually not going to be that ass who judges it without seeing it. I am, however, going to bitch out every person whose day revolves around saying "public schools are random" or something about the character Mr.G (I've seen one episode and I know the whole premise, quotes, main characters, everything you could ever want to know). Remember when Dane Cook became popular and then everyone started saying his jokes until they weren't funny anymore? Step in line, Summer Heights High. Just like every other indie/grass roots show/movie/anything, as it gains popularity, its fans become bigger and bigger douches. This show is at that level. I don't care if you like that show when I don't, but I do start to care when you run around quoting it all day long. So a little message to all you Summer Heights High fans: Tone that shit down. That is all. Thanks, Love Zach.

To my second topic, or list. I enjoyed compiling the top beards list last post, so I decided to keep up the list theme, and go with 3 movies you might not have seen but should see immediately.

In order, number 1, my favorite movie of all time, Almost Famous: Kate Hudson, Billy Crudup, Phillip Seymour Hoffman: If you love music, this movie will change your life. Directed by Cameron Crowe, who followed the Grateful Dead around as a journalist, this movie is based off of his life. Following the fictional band Stillwater (whose songs should be real cuz they rock) on tour, a young teenager opens himself to a whole new culture, and a whole new life. An amazing soundtrack, great performances, and just an overall phenomenal movie. See it. Now.

Number 2. Lucky Number Slevin: Josh Hartnett, Bruce Willis, Morgan Freeman, Lucy Liu: Josh Hartnett gets involved in a case of mistaken identity and becomes part of a crime situation between two crime bosses, "The Rabbi" and "The Boss". Great premise, tons of twists, a really interesting movie to watch.

Number 3, The Prestige: Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman, Scarlett Johansson: If you like magic, this movie is for you. Another movie with tons of twists and turns, the end will blow your mind. Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman are two rival magicians with a history of hatred. The duel to out do the other becomes deadly, and leads both magicians to the brink of insanity. Check it out.

Finally, to my man, Christopher Walken. I love your acting. Not because it's just flat out amazing. What I love about you is the fact that you take absolutely any role thrown at you. You are literally in every movie. Well, not literally, but you get the point. You aren't afraid to take an unusual or crazy role, because you just love what you do. I've made a list of my favorite Christopher Walken movies, out of the thousands to pick from. In no particular order: The Rundown, Click, Balls of Fury, Joe Dirt, Catch Me If You Can, Deer Hunter, Wayne's World 2, Kangaroo Jack, Wedding Crashers, and Blast From the Past. That's a powerful list, and that is just the tip of the iceberg. Thanks for your passion to be awesome at acting, Christopher. You rock.

Finally, a question for everyone... When playing monopoly, which monopoly is your favorite one to have? You can name the properties or the color.

Stay warm yall.

Six Degrees, Manuary, and Awkward Occurances

Howdy everyone. I should start postin more consistantly now that schools back in session. The school day fuels my random thoughts. Alright so lets start out with the play Six Degrees of Separation, by John Guare. The book brings up the theme of how people are connected and how small the world really is. If you look on facebook, they have a Six Degrees of Separation as well, which is pretty awesome. Anyways, I began thinking to myself how everyone is connected by so few people. The theory is that everyone can be connected to each other through six different people, i.e. me to the president or you to a remote person in some foreign country. In english we were asked to think about the most famous person you have encountered, and how many degrees they are away from you, and some pretty cool people came up. My personal favorite was my own, Sean Combs AKA P. Diddy. My mom knows him through work, therefore making me two degrees away from the mogul himself. Crazy. This theory made me think about all the random times you see someone you know in the most remote, obscure times. For example, on my plane to Missouri over winter break, a teacher I had in sixth grade was on the exact same flight. What are the odds that this teacher is going to Missouri at the exact same time on the exact same day that I am? The answer is not very good. Another example. My friend travelled to Argentina over winter break, and he was telling me how one day when he and his family went to a bed and breakfast in an extremely remote area, and who does he see sitting down? One of our other friends from school. Unbelieveable. It truely is a small world out there.

On to the second topic of the night, Manuary. For those of you who don't know, Manuary is a chance for the real man in each of us to shine through. Ditch the razors, and let the burliness come out. I am partipating in Manuary, and I urge you to as well. Its a very liberating experience. (Girls, I urge you not to participate in Manuary. Please.) My Manuary idealologies have led me to create a list of the greatest beards of all time. Feel free to drop a comment with anyone i leave off.

In no particular order...

Hagrid from Harry Potter: That thing is just impressive. He has embraced the idea of being a man, and taken it to a whole. notha. level.

ZZ Top band members: These guys are legends not only for their music, but for their crazy beards. A must have on any beard list. Honorable mention: Kansas.

Charles Darwin: Not only was this guy badass for his evolution theories, but for his manliness as well. Touche, Charles.

Adrian Grenier AKA Vince from Entourage on beach: This beard made me want to go on an island and grow a beard. The women he gets with that thing are ridiculous.

Blackbeard the famous pirate: I dunno why im throwin this one on there, but his name has beard in it, so he was probably legit.

Kimbo Slice: Unbelieveable beard. The shaved head also makes it look even bigger then it is, if thats possible. He reminds me of Zeus but black. Scary. Look at his chest hair. Kinda weird. Shave that shit.

I might add to this later, but for now that should do.
My last section is about awkward occurances. I'm talking about like things with people you don't know in the hall, not awkward moments with friends. For example, at Chipotle today, I was casually walking up to refill my water, because my mouth was on fire(medium my ass). Yeah im a pussy with hot stuff, but thats neither here nor there. Anyways, i'm strollin up, minding my own business, and this guy literally walks the exact same path im taking towards me. He could have gone left. He could have gone right. Instead, he walks right into me, and we have to do that thing that everyone hates where you try to go left but then he's trying to go that same way and you look like your trying to fake each other out, but really your just trying to get to a simple destination: around the person. Another awkward situation: Someone you haven't talk to in a really long time, and don't really want to talk to, even an ex-girlfriend or enemy in the hall. Everytime I see one of these people that I just absolutely don't want to talk to, it's like everyone possibly coming my way just turns around so its just me and that person. Awkward. Finally, my last awkward moment, trying to give tips to a person at a place like baskin robbins. This was adressed in Seinfeld, but it happened to me the other day and it was exactly like on the show. You get your change back, and you want to make sure that the person sees you put the money in the tip jar, so you can get a little gratification out of it. But right when you drop the money in the jar, the person suddenly has the desire to look anywhere but that tip jar. Then, after you walk away, the person gives you a glare for not tipping. Another situation similar to that, when you get a few pennies or a small amount of change back, and you put it right in the tip jar. The person gives you the look, saying "thanks asshole for the pennies. Me and my family will just go fuck ourselves and not eat tonight". Maybe i just get that vibe. Thats all folks. Another one soon. Love you.

Drew P, Lebronbron, and Tom Cruise

Happy holidays everyone. I haven't written in a while, so..."here we go".
My first topic of the day is Mr. Drew Peterson. I'm sure many of you know who he is but for those who don't, he's the cop that keeps killing his wives and getting away with it. He's had four wives, and "killed" the last two. I use quotations because technically, he hasn't killed anyone, even though everyone knows he did. Kathleen Savio, his 3rd wife, was found dead in a bathtub, right before the divorce was finalized. It was ruled a murder, but obviously he knows how to clean up, being a cop, and they couldn't link him to the death. Now, the more famous case, Stacy Peterson. Stacy was Drew's 4th wife, and was never found after she went missing last October. He's still married to a missing woman who he probably killed, and now some extremely intelligent 23 year old girl is getting engaged to him. Really, what a catch for her. Just look at him.

He actually really does resemble that lion-man. What would compel this 23 year old woman to be the 5th wife, 3rd potential corpse of that man? Looks? No. Wealth? He's not that rich. Maybe she just wants to roll the dice a bit, spice up her life. Theres a quick fix, marry a serial killer. Drew Peterson and 23 year old woman, assholes of the week.

In other news, Lebron James is just straight up much better then everyone else. Its absurd how good that guy is. We get a chance to watch the best player ever to step on the court play the game, in arguably not even the prime of his career. Hes only 24. He's going to crush every record the NBA has, while making a billion dollars for playing a game and being a stud in commercials. The signature chalk throw which he stole from KG is still cool, and that commercial rocks.

Lebron James, you rock at life much harder than any of us can. We salute you.

Finally, Tom Cruise. If you have been under a rock, his movie, Valkyrie, just came out on Christmas. In the movie Cruise plays a German officer part of an assassination plot to kill Hitler. Now, I haven't seen this movie yet, and I wouldn't call myself a huge Tom Cruise fan. We all know he's a bit crazy (reference: Oprah's couch jumping, look it up if you don't know). But to all the critics beating the shit out of his performance, get a life. The few legit critics who have actually had constructive criticism and unbias thoughts, thank you. This movie was supposed to be a bust from the start, and I feel like all of this hype about how horrible it will be has just been secret hatred towards Tom Cruise. I don't care if you don't like his offscreen personality, but the dude can act. All the MI's, Risky Business, Tropic Thunder(which sucked besides the performances from Cruise and Downey Jr.), The Last Samurai, Jerry Maguire. He was Jerry f***ing Maguire. That movie rocked. Those are all great movies, and Tom Cruise is a great actor. Give him a chance before you go bashing him. Once I see Valkyrie I'll update my thoughts on it, but even if it isn't good, he has still had a ton of great performances. Keep on keepin on, Tom Cruise.

Theres the couch moment. Not one of his best.

Happy holidays everyone.

Voldemort, Boaters, and ERC Skanks

Hello again. Lets start this blog out with a little prayer for a snow day tomorrow. Thanks for the cooperation. On to the good stuff. Today, randomly, in SRT me and a few friends were talking about Voldemort, and drawing striking resemblances to Hitler. Yeah I know this is the second time i've brought up Hitler, just a coincidence, bear with me. First of all, both were based on wiping out a race, or singling out a dominant one, i.e. killing all the Jews and making a world with only the Aryan race, and Voldemort's strive for all purebloods. Also, with both "dictators"(we'll call Voldemort a dictator for the hell of it) the world appeased them until it was too late, until a supreme power (Harry, the U.S.) came and shut the door. They both also had a poor concept of looks, considering Hitler's ugly as shit mustache and Voldemorts shaved head... Get your shit together. This guy knows where looks are at. Look at that goatee. Awesome. A hint of sadness in those eyes, with a touch of ferocity. Hes a real man.

On to my next topic. Reading the USA Today yesterday(haha) I stumbled upon an article titled "Boater falls 65 miles short" with the sub-headline "Too exhausted to go on after rowing 9,500 miles across Pacific". First of all, that is one of the coolest things i have ever heard. Just take a second to think about 9,500 miles. Then throw in rowing in a tiny ass boat for 10 months by yourself in the middle of the ocean. Alex Bellini the Italian Adventurer, my hero. You truely kick the worlds ass at life. However, it would kinda bother me if i rowed 9,500 miles in 10 months and couldn't finish the last 65 miles. I feel like i would have just rested for a few days instead of just calling it quits, but granted he had just faced a huge storm and had to row through giant waves, so i commend him anyway. What an awesome dude. Congratulations, Alex Bellini, awesome person of the week.

He also has an awesome beard, 10 months will do that to you. Looks like he participated in No Shave November and Manuary...

On to my third topic for tonight, the skank teacher who sits in the ERC and gets off to bitching kids out everyday. The ERC is supposed to be a place for STUDENTS to hang out and study. It isn't there for her leisure and enjoyment. Do something productive instead of sitting there yelling at kids all day. Now, occasionally there are people taking tests, so it is somewhat legit for her to tell us to calm down. But how about not being a huge bitch about it? I was leaning back in my chair, and a bookshelf was loose and a few books fell off the shelf, making a huge scene. To make it funny, Andy decided to hit down like 3 or 4 more books. The ERC nazi comes over, kicks Andy out and sends him to the deans office, writing them a letter saying that he "knocked over upwards of 20 books off the shelf". There weren't even 20 books on that shelf. Who's laughing now, ERC nazi? Learn how to count. I took the time to even look up what teacher this is, so we can publicly abuse her. Kate Coupland. Watch out, skank. Were coming for you, be ready for it. You have to sleep sometime.
