Drew P, Lebronbron, and Tom Cruise

Happy holidays everyone. I haven't written in a while, so..."here we go".
My first topic of the day is Mr. Drew Peterson. I'm sure many of you know who he is but for those who don't, he's the cop that keeps killing his wives and getting away with it. He's had four wives, and "killed" the last two. I use quotations because technically, he hasn't killed anyone, even though everyone knows he did. Kathleen Savio, his 3rd wife, was found dead in a bathtub, right before the divorce was finalized. It was ruled a murder, but obviously he knows how to clean up, being a cop, and they couldn't link him to the death. Now, the more famous case, Stacy Peterson. Stacy was Drew's 4th wife, and was never found after she went missing last October. He's still married to a missing woman who he probably killed, and now some extremely intelligent 23 year old girl is getting engaged to him. Really, what a catch for her. Just look at him.

He actually really does resemble that lion-man. What would compel this 23 year old woman to be the 5th wife, 3rd potential corpse of that man? Looks? No. Wealth? He's not that rich. Maybe she just wants to roll the dice a bit, spice up her life. Theres a quick fix, marry a serial killer. Drew Peterson and 23 year old woman, assholes of the week.

In other news, Lebron James is just straight up much better then everyone else. Its absurd how good that guy is. We get a chance to watch the best player ever to step on the court play the game, in arguably not even the prime of his career. Hes only 24. He's going to crush every record the NBA has, while making a billion dollars for playing a game and being a stud in commercials. The signature chalk throw which he stole from KG is still cool, and that commercial rocks.

Lebron James, you rock at life much harder than any of us can. We salute you.

Finally, Tom Cruise. If you have been under a rock, his movie, Valkyrie, just came out on Christmas. In the movie Cruise plays a German officer part of an assassination plot to kill Hitler. Now, I haven't seen this movie yet, and I wouldn't call myself a huge Tom Cruise fan. We all know he's a bit crazy (reference: Oprah's couch jumping, look it up if you don't know). But to all the critics beating the shit out of his performance, get a life. The few legit critics who have actually had constructive criticism and unbias thoughts, thank you. This movie was supposed to be a bust from the start, and I feel like all of this hype about how horrible it will be has just been secret hatred towards Tom Cruise. I don't care if you don't like his offscreen personality, but the dude can act. All the MI's, Risky Business, Tropic Thunder(which sucked besides the performances from Cruise and Downey Jr.), The Last Samurai, Jerry Maguire. He was Jerry f***ing Maguire. That movie rocked. Those are all great movies, and Tom Cruise is a great actor. Give him a chance before you go bashing him. Once I see Valkyrie I'll update my thoughts on it, but even if it isn't good, he has still had a ton of great performances. Keep on keepin on, Tom Cruise.

Theres the couch moment. Not one of his best.

Happy holidays everyone.

Voldemort, Boaters, and ERC Skanks

Hello again. Lets start this blog out with a little prayer for a snow day tomorrow. Thanks for the cooperation. On to the good stuff. Today, randomly, in SRT me and a few friends were talking about Voldemort, and drawing striking resemblances to Hitler. Yeah I know this is the second time i've brought up Hitler, just a coincidence, bear with me. First of all, both were based on wiping out a race, or singling out a dominant one, i.e. killing all the Jews and making a world with only the Aryan race, and Voldemort's strive for all purebloods. Also, with both "dictators"(we'll call Voldemort a dictator for the hell of it) the world appeased them until it was too late, until a supreme power (Harry, the U.S.) came and shut the door. They both also had a poor concept of looks, considering Hitler's ugly as shit mustache and Voldemorts shaved head... Get your shit together. This guy knows where looks are at. Look at that goatee. Awesome. A hint of sadness in those eyes, with a touch of ferocity. Hes a real man.

On to my next topic. Reading the USA Today yesterday(haha) I stumbled upon an article titled "Boater falls 65 miles short" with the sub-headline "Too exhausted to go on after rowing 9,500 miles across Pacific". First of all, that is one of the coolest things i have ever heard. Just take a second to think about 9,500 miles. Then throw in rowing in a tiny ass boat for 10 months by yourself in the middle of the ocean. Alex Bellini the Italian Adventurer, my hero. You truely kick the worlds ass at life. However, it would kinda bother me if i rowed 9,500 miles in 10 months and couldn't finish the last 65 miles. I feel like i would have just rested for a few days instead of just calling it quits, but granted he had just faced a huge storm and had to row through giant waves, so i commend him anyway. What an awesome dude. Congratulations, Alex Bellini, awesome person of the week.

He also has an awesome beard, 10 months will do that to you. Looks like he participated in No Shave November and Manuary...

On to my third topic for tonight, the skank teacher who sits in the ERC and gets off to bitching kids out everyday. The ERC is supposed to be a place for STUDENTS to hang out and study. It isn't there for her leisure and enjoyment. Do something productive instead of sitting there yelling at kids all day. Now, occasionally there are people taking tests, so it is somewhat legit for her to tell us to calm down. But how about not being a huge bitch about it? I was leaning back in my chair, and a bookshelf was loose and a few books fell off the shelf, making a huge scene. To make it funny, Andy decided to hit down like 3 or 4 more books. The ERC nazi comes over, kicks Andy out and sends him to the deans office, writing them a letter saying that he "knocked over upwards of 20 books off the shelf". There weren't even 20 books on that shelf. Who's laughing now, ERC nazi? Learn how to count. I took the time to even look up what teacher this is, so we can publicly abuse her. Kate Coupland. Watch out, skank. Were coming for you, be ready for it. You have to sleep sometime.

That's all for today, let me know what you think. I'm open to suggestions. Sorry big guy... Don't be sad! There will be another blog soon! Love you.

Calling Out the Elderly

Attention, all people of elderly status, stop driving. All of you. Every time someone is going slow, holding up traffic, frustrating everyone around them, they are either on the phone, over 60, or both. (suspenseful music). Today, I had the privilege of a first hand experience with one of these "old chatters". First of all, who can they possibly be talking to? Second of all, how did they figure out how to work the cell phone in the first place? I was on my way to my bass lesson, which is around 10 minutes away. So, I leave about ten minutes before the lesson. Bad move. I totally forgot to factor in the old cell phone talking drivers. Terrible mistake. Two drivers, both pushing 80, using their cell phones, while going around 25 in a 40. One female (Jesus.) and the other male. The female, your standard Grandma figure, straight out of your family re

union. Bushy grey hair, obnoxious white pearl necklace, thick giant glasses, you get th
e point. (Its scary how much this picture actually looks like the lady. I typed that description before I found this, eerie...) She was texting, (if she knew how to text, which is unlikely) not really paying any attention to the road, (if she knew she was on the road), and setting up a blockade of the entire street with her fellow elderly companion, the male. The male seemed like the drunken grandfather who beats the shit out of his grand kids. Balding, with some hair on the sides, also wearing glasses, straight out of the bathtub wrinkly. He was yelling into the phone, which supports my previous thoughts about him, and constantly rummaging through his backseat, eyes clearly nowhere near the road. These two were neck and neck the whole race, until the train tracks. Apparently Mr. Elderly didn't want the tracks to damage his Model T, because he felt the need to slow almost to a stop on the tracks. God forbid a train was coming at that exact moment, he wouldn't have made it out of there. I saw the opening, and sped up behind Mrs. Elderly, to try to "thread the needle". Right when I go to change lanes in front of Mr. Elderly, he speeds up just fast enough not to let me pass, while at the same time Mrs. Elderly must have been startled by something, because she slams on her brakes. I'm left out to dry, slamming my brakes in just enough time to stop me from ending up in the back seat of Mrs. Elderly's beat up car. I finally stroll into the bass lesson, a miserable 10 minutes late. And who is walking into the store next to me? Mr. Elderly. What store is it? Sarah Lee. Find me anyone young who shops at Sarah Lee. I dare you. Moral of the story: Know your limits old people. Your eyes are going, your hearing isn't what it used to be, your reactions are damn slow. Public transportation.

Pretty irrelevant. I laughed anyway.

Busting on the Scene

Tears roll down my eyes while typing this. Greg Oden, as of right now, is a bust. I never imagined myself typing these words. Ever. Greg Oden, the manchild, who should have been tearing the NBA a new asshole by this time. Greg Oden, the adonis who I have worshipped for the past 4 years. Greg Oden, the next Sam Bowie? Since high school I have watched Oden, and was frustrated enough last year having to wait yet another season to see the big man play in the NBA. Then, finally, this season came, and, sitting in disbelief in front of the TV, Greg Oden fell to the ground with an ankle injury. Now, when this injury occured, and I heard the constant terrorizing "bust" comments coming from my friends, a tiny part of me agreed with them. However, I kept my faith, waiting for his return. I even bought my own Oden jersey, a must have for any avid fan. However, when he returned, Oden was not the same dominating presence he had been in the past. He looked old, (hilarious considering that he actually does look old despite his young age) out of shape, and just genuinely not good. His shots were way off, he was hacking, making horrible decisions, and turning the ball over nonstop. He has continually played sparing minutes because of his inability to stay out of foul trouble, and has been abused by the veteran bigs every time he has played. Now, I am hoping that I, and the rest of the world, are wrong. I genuinely think he someday will be big. Maybe its just a rookie thing? (Talk to Derrick Rose and O.J. Mayo about a "rookie thing") But for now, I am finally admitting, Greg Oden is not good. Maybe this will spark some success in the big guy, through some paranormal event. But probably not. Better luck next year.

The Revolution Train, and Mr. Columbus

Have you ever felt like you wanted to be part of something bigger then yourself? Part of a movement? A revolution? Sometimes all it takes is a high school environment to make me feel as obscure as we all really are in relation to the entire world, let alone the entire universe. I've always wanted to do something huge, be a part of something. An invention, an idea, a perspective, anything. I want to build something just to look at the final result and be able to say, "this is here becuase of what I did". That satisfaction is what I am looking for. Much like parents probably feel after giving birth. They created that life, nobody else. That child is there solely because of them. I'm at a point in my life where everything is so ordinary its unbearable, and I'm looking for something to change that. On a separate note, theres been a few things on my mind lately. My topic of conversation: Mr. Chris Columbus. In AP world, the hellish class that it is, the one interesting perspective i have gotten is that Columbus was a douschebag. Hide the children, cover their ears, do what you have to, because we all know that since birth he has been an icon, even worthy of a day off of school. How could he ever be a douschebag you ask? Well, for starters, he didn't even find America. Someone else on his ship did, and Columbus just lied and said he had saw it days earlier and hadn't said anything. Columbus picked up a hefty reward for that "find". Now lets get to the real douschebaggery, the part where Columbus kills the shit out of all the Indians. Real icon. Now my class had a discussion, on if the slaughter of the indians was justified. The argument was that America would have never progressed if this "genocide" (not officially a genocide but along those lines) would have happened. My response to that, is the lives of innocent people worth the progress? Maybe the indians aren't well represented enough. So my example for this, the Jews. The holocaust was "progress" in Hitler's eyes, wasn't it? The word progress is not definite. It means different things to different people. So arguably, was the killing of the millions of Jews as well as millions of other people worth it for progress? Now obviously, Hitler's progress was a little less appealing to the general popluation (settle down all you KKK and neo-Nazis) but think about it from the indian's perspective(and they were called indians, because Columbus thought he landed in India). They are the voice that is not heard, nor taught, but suffered just as much as the other atrocities this world has seen. So Chris Columbus, Douschbag of the day. Congratulations, now you rightly earned your respective day. Be ready for some more opinions in days to come, this is just the beginning.
